Equip

One of the main callings on the local church is to “Equip the Saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.” We believe a disciple is someone who is increasingly Knowing, Believing, and Obeying the work of Jesus Christ. We know that is is not an easy task and is something that can take a lifetime to grow in. We are all on our own journey with the Lord to grow closer in His likeness. We believe this manifests in three ways:

Know. Believe. Obey

One of the most quoted scriptures in all the Bible Comes out of Deuteronomy 6:5 “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.” This is what a holistic disciple looks like. One who loves the Lord your God with all your Heart, Soul, Strength. Practically we define this as Know, Believe, Obey.

  • If we are to say that we are followers of God, that first needs to start with a commitment to know him better.

  • In Mark 1:15 Jesus says “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.” Jesus gives us two commands here, the first of those being repent, and the second of those being believe. Belief is not a singular or stagnant action, but is one that is ever growing. The more we believe in God, the more we will look like Him, the more we look like Jesus, the more we want to share Grace and Truth to the world around us.
